Please help. I keep getting this message: "Data Execution Prevention".....?

When i try to search for files in windows XP it stops searching after about 30 seconds and I keep getting this message: "Data Execution Prevention. To help protect your computer windows has closed this programme"

I have tried to change the setting of the DEP but does nothing to resolve the problem. Immediately before this problem started to occur i had downloaded a couple of files from "LimeWire" So maybe i have a virus. I have run Norton, Ewido, Spybot and AdawareSE to no avail. I have even tried to repair XP with the system disc and again to no avail. I dont want to have to reformat if at all possible. Any clues. Thanks

Please help. I keep getting this message: "Data Execution Prevention".....?
think you going to have to reformat.limewire caused problems for me and had loads of viruses cos of it.once i feformatted the pc was runnung like new again.hope thats of help.by the way i was told thats the only thing to do by 2 people who know their stuff about computers.
Reply:goto windows update and download defender or beta, will work..... an goto filehippo.com download ccleaner xxxxxx
Reply:Do a system restore to just before you downloaded the limewire files.

Go To:

start

all programs

accessories

system tools

system restore

restore my system to an earlier time

Then select a date that is highlighted and prior to the 'limewire download' and follow the directions. You will not lose any work you have done. The only thing that you will lose are any new programs that you might have installed.

Good luck
