Why do you think drug prevention campaigns are not effective?

why do you think drug prevention campaigns are not effective? Do you think it would be more effective to preach the reduction of abuse instead of complete abstinence?

The information is often inaccurate. Many people are aware that cannabis is far less dangerous than cocaine. Telling people the opposite leads to distrust. As this cycle continues people stop listening. This problem is most significant among youth. The use of scare tactics that are easy to debunk is the wrong way to educate people.
Reply:They are usually quite lame to be honest. I DO NOT advocate drug use but let's face it, the people who come up with this stuff are NOT the people who are being targeted.
