Prevention of sunburn peeling?

I went to the pool with my friend yesterday, and we both got sunburnt because we forgot to re-apply sunscreen after a water balloon fight and four hours at the pool. My skin is red, and rough, and I know it will either start peeling tonight or tomorow. Is there any kind of lotion or special aloe vera to prevent peeling of sunburn? and if there is, what is the name of it. I know its too late to prevent peeling, its going to happen whether i like it or not, but is there anything i can buy that would make it not as bad as it might be alone? help???

The best thing to do is to cover it in Solarcaine. Banana Boat has an Aloe after sun spray, or you can use Pure Aloe. Moisturize the skin as much as possible .
Reply:cant prevent that but use noxema for the cooling effect...refrigerate the cream and then use it....wow
Reply:If you use a loofah on the skin while in the shower, it will shorten the "shedding" process.

There is nothing you can do to prevent it... that skin is dead, your body has to shed it.

I think she said wow about how good the cold cream would feel on her sunburn - not in reference to anything you said
Reply:Lotion it like crazy!!
Reply:Previous answer is 100% correct. I totally agree. Also, you can get a lotion at Wild Oats (or the healthfood store where you live) called Kiss My Face. You can put it anywhere on your bod. It goes on smooth, so it won't hurt when you put it on. It has amazing ingredients in it to hydrate your skin. That is the only lotion that helped my skin stay hydrated after burning.

Also, drink lots of water to stay hydrated.
Reply:moisturize, moisturize, moisturize, stay away from lotions with fragrance they have alcohol in them and will counteract the other effects besides making the burn burn more 100% cocoa butter is in my opinion the best
