Prevention of diaper rash?

Cloth diapers.

Look for ones with a stay-dry interior like fleece. It will wick moisture away from your baby's bottom.

Make sure you use very little detergent (1 tbsp) to wash them in and that they are well rinsed.

Prevention of diaper rash?
keep your baby as try as possible sounds weird but even fan the babys tush so there is no wetness before you put the diaper on
Reply:The main thing to do is make sure you change your babies diapers often! Don't leave them sit in a wet or poopy diaper! We use A%26amp;D ointment at the first sign of redness and have not had any serious outbreaks of diaper rash on my 4+month old!
Reply:i make sure I use A lot of baby powder. To keep him as dry as possible.
Reply:I use the A%26amp;D ointment (not the creamy kind) at every diaper change. Change the baby's diaper right away after the bowl movements...don't let him/her in messy diaper for more than 10 minutes. The bacteria grows fast and also can cause yeast infections in both baby boys %26amp; girls.
Reply:try using A%26amp;D Ointment. it says right on the label that it pretects from diaper rash.

in addition use the advice the others posted.
Reply:naked time!

i air out my baby's bottom about once a day for maybe 10 or 15 minutes. i lay a towel on the floor with toys and he goes nuts. although now he's crawling, he doesn't like to stay still. i don't mind if he pees because i'm right there and i just clean up right away.

i also use diaper cream everytime i change his diaper and i never let him sit in pee or poop for too long.
Reply:I have thank my mom for this!!! I was worried about a diaper rash specially when I put my daughter in day care. So, mom suggested that I give my daughter's bottom "a bath" at night before she goes to bed on nights she didnt take a bath which was every other night. I would also wait until she was completely dry from her bath before I put a diaper on. Between diaper changes, when time permitted, I would not put a diaper on just placed a few towels under her bottom and laid her in her crib or sit her on my lap. It was awesome! I didnt spend money on creams nor did my little one have a single rash.
Reply:You don't have to use cloth diapers or use little detergent unless you want to or unless your baby has extra sensitive skin. Using alot of powder isn't really necessary. Just make sure you change their diaper often, make sure their little bottom is fairly dry (I usually just fan baby's butt with an extra diaper), and use a little Vaseline (to add extra protection against wetness) and a little powder. Trust me on this, my baby is 9 months old and only had a diaper rash once, even then it was the middle of summer and he's kind of chunky. Another thing that I do is try not wipe him so much, wipes tend to chafe their skin if used too much. So, if there's only pee in the diaper and you used vaseline during the previous diaper change you shouldn't need to wipe him again. Probably every other pee pee diaper is when they should be wiped. (Again, this is for babies with normal skin.)
Reply:Cloth diapers, seriously. Diaper rash is caused by wetness trapped against the skin. Now come on, which do you think breathes better? Plastic or soft cotton?

I figure I don't wear plastic underwear, why should my kid?
Reply:My 5 month old never gets nappy rash, I clean his bum, pat dry with a flannel and then put sudocrem on.
