Diabetes prevention tips?

There's a small history in my family, I just wanted to know if there's anyway to prevent it and if there is, how? Thanks!

Diabetes prevention tips?
The best way to prevent diabetes is also the best way to avoid a lot of sicknesses. Eat a healthy, balanced diet, get regular exercise, get enough rest, don't smoke, and try to reduce stress (sometimes that just boils down to not paying so much attention to the things we can't control).

If you take care of your body, you're always at your healthiest. You may not be able to change genetics, or fate, but you'll know you did the very best you could. You'll also be at your most healthy when, or if, any sickness or injury happens.

The site, http://www.mypyramid.gov gives a good outline of what a healthy nutritious diet. There's a lot of other stuff there as well. Like free daily food intake, and activity trackers.

I think that's the best advice you can get. Get into a pattern of eating well, and exercising regularly. Excess weight gain is thought to induce diabetes. Better to make eating well a lifestyle, than spending a lifetime yo-yo dieting and letting your body slip into constant states of vulnerability. You've also got to consider the stress you're going to be in when you rebound after fad diets. Not just the regular, "I"m fat!" stress. You'll also have, "I might get diabetes!" stress. It'll also be easier to stick with a diabetic diet (if you ever need to) when you're already used to eating a healthy diet.

While you're doing that, you should also get into the habit of having your blood sugar checked. Like I said, we sometime cannot change genetics. You should also know the signs and symptoms of high blood sugar. Most people say they noticed being unusually thirsty, and having to pee a lot.

Take care of yourself, and your body, and be strong. That's the best way to avoid diabetes, or to handle it.
