All infants and children should be immunized. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends vaccination at 2 mo, 4 mo, and 6 to 18 mo and a booster dose at 4 to 6 yr.

Prevention about polio?
it was eradicated over 50 years ago, remeber there is a vaccination for it. I havent heard of a US case since ive been alive and thats 40 years. so once its gone it means its erradicated

1) Oral ( used in india)
2) injectebles.
Reply:Polio although eradicated in most of the developed countries, it is still prevalent in countries like India.It spreads through faeco-oral route,hence proper hand washing after toileting is mandatory.Improving sanitation is key factor to prevent this disease.
However,vaccine(oral drops) is available which to be given at birth,thereafter at one and half,two and half,and at three and half month periods.
