What is the best way to prevent ticks on dogs
is there any meds that the dog can take?
Tick prevention?
Frontline is good, I have used it for years. K9 Advantix is supposed to be good as well as Preventic Tick Collar.
Reply:Frontline and Advantage are popular. These are ointments that are spot treated on the back of the neck of the animal.
Reply:Frontline Plus takes care of fleas and ticks. I live out in the country and we have all kinds of ticks out here. Frontline is the best medication I've found for ticks so far. It's very important to check their coats every day if they're outside a lot and make sure they don't have ticks on them. They also make sprays that can help prevent ticks, but if the dog licks himself a lot, the spray can make him sick. Good luck!
Reply:Revolution is a med that will help to prevent many parasites. You can get it from your local vet, or online. Dr. Foster's %26amp; Smith is a very affordable store to buy all kinds of pet products. I use them for most of my pet needs.

Reply:Advantage flea and tick. It is a liquid that you put on the back of the neck once a month. It is the best stuff for killing the ones they have and repelling the ones that want a free meal. I would AVOID Frontline at all costs not only does it not work but they will not honor their warranty and give you a refund. Frontline is crap... Advantage is the one you want. You can get it at your local pet supply store or vet. Best of luck to.
Reply:Hyperdrug Flea %26amp; Tick Drops from www.hyperdrug.co.uk. Very effective. I started using it two years ago and I never see a tick on my dogs now. Much cheaper than Frontline too.
Reply:Frontline PLus and Advantix are the best. I have used both on my Pug for years...I tested both over the years and prefer Frontline Plus now. Also the best prices online are easily at http://www.FleaMeds4Less.com . Not imported products and not counterfeit.
Reply:I like Revolution, it has heatrgard in it too. I take the 1800petmeds money quote to my vet and he matches the price

That is a link to a tool that actually removes the ticks, it works good and you dont have to touch the tick or worry about it coming out in pieces. Hope that helps you!
